The Westcliff Dress

I was searching for a maxi dress for a while. I don’t always find styles that suit me in the shops, as I’m a slight pear shape with a long body. The Westcliff dress ticked a lot of boxes for me. The pattern comes with two different bust sizes (B or D) which meant I didn’t have to adjust anything to make it fit me. You can also either have it as a knee length dress or the maxi dress.

Originally I was going to use some floral yellow mustard jersey that I bought on facebook, but it was so thin there was no way it was going to work without some serious undergarments to stop it being see-through. Instead, I popped to a local fabric shop (and met my Mum there too as she can’t resist a bit of fabric shopping!) and bought this gorgeous navy jersey, which is just thick and drapey enough, and feels like really good quality.

The pattern itself was really well written, and easy to follow. I’m so happy with the dress – it is probably the first maxi dress I will have worn in ages. I just need the sun to come out so I can wear it!!
